PFI lawyers were certainly given a jolt last week with the news that Amey, one of the major players in the market, was becoming ‘more selective’ in bidding for Government PFI projects.

The development is a heavy blow to the legal profession, not least because Amey instructs a myriad of firms including Masons, CMS Cameron McKenna, Linklaters, Lovells and Clifford Chance, but also because it is further evidence of the crisis of confidence in the PFI market.
