The Law Lords have attacked the conditional fee system that was controversially brought in by the Government to replace legal aid – and called for new legislation.
The House of Lords on Thursday (28 June) effectively washed its hands of the confusion that has surrounded the Government’s decision to replace legal aid with conditional fee agreements (CFAs) by refusing to deliberate on the long running Callery v Gray test case.
