Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw and Clifford Chance are among a quintet of firms that have been holding talks with a highly rated 12-partner IP team at the US tech firm Brobeck Phleger & Harrison.
But, while it is unclear how many partners Mayer Brown is talking to, Clifford Chance is understood to have baulked at taking on the entire 48-lawyer practice.
