A group of second-tier full service firms including Lovells and Norton Rose are falling so far behind their magic circle rivals that they risk joining a rump of firms that are “not really going anywhere”, according to Alan Hodgart, one of the UK’s top management consultants.
Lovells and Norton Rose are among a raft of firms to receive a verbal drubbing from the London-based consultant at Hildebrandt International in a candid overview of the UK market he delivered to a group of US lawyers in Washington DC earlier this year.
