In a little more than two years’ time, the property industry will have to comply with new legislation aimed at giving a fairer deal to the disabled.
The financial costs of meeting the strictures of the Disability Discrimination Act, estimated to cover some 11.7 million people in the UK, could be significant. Failure to do so could result in legal actions for damages from disabled individuals.
