The Lord Chancellor’s Department (LCD) has shelved controversial plans to allow representative groups to take on legal claims on behalf of individuals.
The proposal, first floated last year, would have allowed organisations like trade unions and consumer groups to take on and run legal claims on behalf of individuals or groups of individuals.
