Linklaters & Alliance corporate partner Michael Sullivan has advised British Petroleum on its £260.9m acquisition of an additional 15% stake in the Russian-based oil and gas company OAO Sidanco. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld corporate partner Vladimir Lechtman advised the target. The deal brings BP’s stake to 25%. The acquisition is part of BP’s strategy to develop its oil and gas market in Russia.
Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom corporate partner Sheldon Adler has advised Centrica, the UK-based supplier of energy and services, on its £153m acquisition of US-based power utility companies Central Power and Light Company and West Texas Utilities Company (WTU). Locke Liddell & Sapp corporate partner Alan Holman also advised Centrica. Clark Thomas & Winters corporate partner Joseph Cain advised Central Power, while Simpson Thacher & Bartlett corporate partner James Colter advised WTU.
