Top City firms have cut back the number of partner appointments this year, as transactional firms wrestle with the continued lull in the corporate and capital markets.
Research by Legal Week shows that the number of new partners made up this year at top UK firms is generally well down on last year, which itself was down on the record-breaking 2000 round in which Clifford Chance made up 72 partners.
