Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom corporate partner Michael Hatchard has advised Meridian Gold on its £160m bid for Brancote Holdings, an AIM-listed mineral exploration company. Brancote was advised by Lawrence Graham partners Tom Nichols and Charles Wilkinson. Meridian is a US-based producer of precious metals and is listed on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges.
Ashurst Morris Crisp corporate partner Simon Thrower has advised Credit Industriel et Commercial on its £59.5m LBO of the pharmaceutical packaging operations of Risdon Pharma. The Ashursts team comprised lawyers from the Paris and Frankfurt offices. The deal involved buying the relevant assets from US parent Crown Cork & Seal and its French and German subsidiaries. Linklaters & Alliance advised the investors on structuring and finance issues, involving partners from that firm’s French, German and Luxembourg offices.
