A senior Lovells partner played a key role in a document destruction programme by British American Tobacco (BAT) designed to thwart claims against the company, a judge has found.
The case, being dubbed the Australian Enron, saw top Australian firm Clayton Utz and BAT censured by an Australian judge for “subverting” the discovery process, thereby denying a woman dying of cancer a fair trial.
