Top Dutch firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is cutting its ties with Linklaters, its UK ally, after refusing to comply with the London firm’s merger demands.
The dramatic move, which was announced on 10 April, represents both a re-assertion of De Brauw’s independence and a major setback to Linklaters’ drive to become the dominant pan-European capital markets and M&A firm.
