College of Law chief executive, Nigel Savage, has called for training contracts to be scrapped, dismissing the practice as a throwback to the Victorian age.
In a call for reform of the UK’s legal training system, Savage said the legal profession had failed to address the fundamental strategic issue of “what makes a solicitor”.
