Herbert Smith has emerged as the first UK firm to have produced two solicitor QCs following the publication today (28 March) of this year’s silks list, with Kingsley Napley partner Michael Caplan also making the grade.

The elevation of Herbert Smith partner Julian Lew to silk, one of only a handful of solicitors to be made a QC, follows on from the appointment of Sir Lawrence Collins, now a High Court judge, but at the time one of the firm’s top ranked partners.
