Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw has signed off its first major deal since last month’s merger between Rowe & Maw and Chicago giant Mayer Brown & Platt, acting on a £310m acquisition for General Electric Power Systems (GE).

The Mayer Brown team was led by Paul Maher, head of corporate at the legacy Rowe & Maw and now the firm’s London managing partner, who advised GE on its acquisition of pipeline inspection business Pipeline Integrity International (PII) from HgCapital. Other lawyers playing a prominent role on the deal included senior assistants Gary Cooper and Andrew Stanger and tax partner Trefor John.
