Andersen Legal’s Russian arm has pulled out of a link-up with KPMG to pursue merger talks with Ernst & Young’s legal arm.
The move follows a decision last Thursday (21 March) by the Russian arm of Andersen, which is struggling to secure an agreed takeover of its non-US businesses by KPMG in the wake of the Enron scandal, to join with rival big five firm Ernst & Young.
