Herbert Smith’s London office has won its first instruction from investment bank BNP Paribas.
Finance partners Jason Fox and Jonathan Williams recently advised the bank on its role as sole arranger for a £70m secured financing for Addax Petroleum’s Nigerian oil and gas interests.
Williams said the deal marked the first time that BNP had used the firm’s London office, although its Paris office had previously done “bits and pieces” of work for the bank.
