City lawyers have hit back at claims that they are damaging market confidence by advising clients to radically alter their disclosure practices to protect themselves from Financial Services Authority (FSA) prosecution.
The claims were made in a speech given last week by FSA chairman Sir Howard Davies, who strongly criticised lawyers for advising clients to say as little as possible about their future prospects.
