Firms plan to increase graduate intake despite increasing redundancies

Despite the economic downturn and falling profits, a Legal Week poll has found that the vast majority of firms have no plans to cut the number of trainee solicitors they recruit.
The Big Question survey of 100 leading solicitors, conducted in January, found that 31% of larger solicitors’ firms actually planned to increase the number of training contracts on offer, while a mere 5% said that they intended to recruit fewer trainees this year.
