Large firms to benefit as audience barriers removed in Germany's appellate courts

The exclusive rights of access to the German appeal courts that are enjoyed by specialist appellate lawyers are to be scrapped in a move that poses a major threat to Germany’s boutique litigation firms.
The move will open up Germany’s 15 federal appeal courts to all trial lawyers with more than five years’ experience in Germany’s courts of first instance.
