The Paris office of Lovells has advised online bank Egg on its e8m (£5m) acquisition of Zebank, in what is the corporate practice’s second major Anglo-French deal since Lovells merged with Simeon & Associes last November.
The deal confirms Lovells as a key adviser to Egg, a position that has been under threat recently with the advance by Slaughter and May on the client. Slaughters acted for Egg on its flotation in 2000 and has been wooing Egg ever since.
