We now have a new Pensions Ombudsman, David Laverick, who replaced Dr Julian Farrand QC as of September 2001.
The Pensions Ombudsman can investigate complaints of injustice caused by maladministration and disputes of fact or law brought by members of occupational and personal pension schemes and their spouses and dependents against the scheme’s trustees, managers, employers and administrators. The service is free to members and has therefore led to an increase in pensions litigation over the past decade.
