Lock lands top City crime role

Former Lord Chancellor’s Department minister and Labour MP David Lock has been named as chairman for the Service Authorities of the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) and the National Crime Squad (NCS).

Lock, who was appointed this month by Home Secretary David Blunkett, will be taking over one of the most senior roles in co-ordinating the fight against white-collar crime from Sir John Wheeler, who stands down on 1 April.
