DLAGiven the evident success of DLA at re-styling itself as a confident City player in the past two years, it comes as something of a surprise that in M&A – still regarded by many as the litmus test of commercial credibility – the firm still lags behind its main national rivals.

A glance at Mergermarket’s European M&A statistics for the first three quarters of the year, shows the firm acting on deals worth a total of £1bn, which lags well behind the £4.23bn clocked up at Eversheds and the £2.97bn achieved at the far smaller Pinsent Curtis Biddle during the same period.
