New York firm Shearman & Sterling has hired Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton’s highly-rated German head of tax Gottfried Breuninger.
The move leaves Clearys with six partners in Frankfurt, its sole German office. Breuninger joins after spending just a year at the US rival.
