Apparently Lord Woolf, the Lord Chief Justice, was not joking when he told the recent Bar conference how impressed he was by the Bar’s openness to change.
“The changes that have taken place in the Bar since I commenced practice are staggering,” he said in a tub-thumping trade union-style speech. “The Bar’s willingness to embrace change has been quite remarkable.”
