Richards Butler is to appeal a High Court decision effectively forcing it to withdraw from a major arbitration after the court ruled one of the firm’s new lawyers ran the risk of passing on confidential information on the case.
The case is expected to have far reaching consequences and could prevent barristers and solicitors moving between rival firms and chambers if it can be proved that they have knowledge of sensitive business information.
