The classic gripe about management consultants is that they charge you for telling you what you already know. Certainly this seemed to be the prevailing view among the law firm IT directors that had gathered in Gleneagles for the Legal IT Forum last week.
“The partners brought in these consultants, and they just repeated all the recommendations I had been making for the past two years,” complained one. “The partners had ignored me, but as soon as the consultants came up with their list, they took action.”
