Foreign firms last year nearly doubled the value of legal services they imported into the UK in the most dramatic evidence yet seen of the major strides made by US firms in cracking the City legal market.
Government statistics, published this month, show the value of legal services imported last year in the UK rose by 78% from £232m to £413m, the vast majority of which is thanks to US law firms.
