A handful of top US in-house counsel earned more last year than lawyers in private practice, according to Corporate Counsel’s 2001 compensation survey.
The survey of 100 of the highest-paid American general counsel shows top in-house lawyers earned salaries of more than $400,000 (£273,500), with bonuses in excess of $3m (£2.4m) in some cases.
