DLA’s Leeds office has completed the largest securitisation deal for a sports club in the UK, advising Leeds United FC on its £60m securitisation of future ticket revenues.
The deal is the fourth securitisation DLA has handled for a football club in the past three years. It is also the first major instruction it has handled for Leeds United, whose main legal advisers are Macfarlanes and SJ Berwin. Partner Andrew Price and banking partner Sarah Day led the deal from the firm’s Leeds and Sheffield offices.
