Cambridge-based Hewitson Becke + Shaw has pulled out of merger discussions with Oxford firm Linnells, scuppering the first major attempt to create a law firm bridging the UK’s two main technology centres.
In a statement released this week, Hewitsons confirmed that it had broken off discussions with the 17-partner Linnells, though the firm claimed it was committed to launching a practice in Oxford.
