Chancery/commercial and civil chambers 4 Field Court has announced it is to restructure as a specialist commercial set, with effect from 31 October. The new set will be known as Stone Chambers, and will continue to practice from 4 Field Court.Steven Gee QC will retain his position as head of chambers, but further details of the restructuring have yet to be released. The future of the set’s remaining tenants – including eight other silks – and the clerking team is unclear.Although no official reason has been given for the decision to restructure, it is widely seen as a response to the sudden departure in late June of five top commercial specialists for rival set 4 Essex Court. Shipping specialists Lionel Persey QC, Nigel Meeson, David Goldstone, and Michael Davey, and reinsurance junior Guy Blackwood, attributed the move to opportunities presented by 4 Essex Court.
