The European courts have backed the right of EU bars to block multi-disciplinary partnerships (MDP) in a landmark decision delivered this week.
A preliminary opinion handed down on Tuesday (10 July) by European Court of Justice (ECJ) advocate general Philippe Leger backs the right of the Dutch bar to ban MDPs at a national level, in a move which threatens to curtail the march of accountancy tied firms in Europe.
