Allen & Overy has boosted its Hong Kong property practice with the appointment of one of Linklaters’ most senior lawyers in the region.
Simon Reid-Kay, formerly Linklaters’ Hong Kong head of property, joins the firm as a partner as well as becoming head of the property team in the region.
Reid-Kay will replace former property head Philip Walden, who is leaving the firm to establish a new non-legal business venture in Hong Kong.
A 13-year veteran of Linklaters, Reid-Kay has a broad range of property experience and has advised on the property aspects of IPOs, securitisations, sale and leaseback transactions and portfolio management for a variety of Hong Kong-based banks.
His appointment is the second senior appointment to A&O’s Hong Kong office, with the magic circle firm in January relocating corporate partner Claire Wright to Hong Kong to set up a communication, media and technology (CMT) group in the Asia-Pacific region.
