Do you have any regrets about leaving private practice to move in-house?
No, I find industry challenging and rewarding. You come across a wide range of people who you would not necessarily meet in private practice. One of the surprises for some lawyers emerging from the cocoon of private practice is that there are extremely able and intelligent people who are not lawyers.
Are you a lawyer first or
a businessman ?
Both – they are not mutually exclusive. But I am a lawyer first when offering legal advice and a businessman first when I am involved in decisions of a non-legal nature.
