A seasoned veteran in the legal technology arena, but a relative newcomer to the role of director of information systems, Randy Burkart, head of IT at New York-based giant Weil Gotshal & Manges, has reached the pinnacle of his profession by a rather unorthodox route. “I have not grown up as a traditional IT director,” he says, “but I have been in the industry about as long as some of the most experienced CIOs, such as Harris Tilevitz and Curt Meltzer [CIOs at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and Dorsey & Whitney respectively].”
