City firm DJ Freeman has appointed a new senior partner to succeed Colin Joseph who vacates the post in May. Corporate insurance partner Toby Greenbury who has been with the firm for the last 21 years will take up the position. Greenbury, who pioneered the introduction of corporate capital into the Lloyd’s market, has also recently been involved in establishing and advising the Tenon Group, the only publicly listed accountancy-based business services group in the UK. Greenbury said that when he takes over the management position his priority will be to build the firm’s market sector approach, in particular the insurance and media practices. The 60-partner firm has seen several departures recently, earlier this month the firm’s head of planning Richard Max left for media firm Olswang. In July the firm also lost its head of banking Caroline Janzen to the London office of Addelshaw Booth & Co and in the same month legal property consultant Kier McGuiness who joined DJ Freeman in a blaze of publicity at the end of 1999 also departed.
