Theodore Goddard (TG) claims to have received several merger approaches following its surprise withdrawal from talks with Richards Butler (RB) last week.
Peter Kavanagh, the firm’s managing partner, told Legal Week the firm had already been approached by other City firms, US firms and accountants.
Kavanagh said the firm would consider a merger with other City practices or a US firm, but specifically ruled out a tie-up with a firm of accountants on the grounds that “that would not deliver what we have set ourselves to achieve”.
