Allen & Overy (A&O) has become the third City firm to have more partners outside the UK than at home, pipping Linklaters to the post by a few days.

Although Linklaters merged officially with its German ally Oppenhoff & Raedler on 15 January, A&O made the landmark figure on 1 January due to its recent Belgian merger. The other firms to have more partners abroad than in the UK are Clifford Chance and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
