Texas-based Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld is taking over Californian firm Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick & Tobey.
The deal, which will come into force early next year, will see Akin Gump gain 61 lawyers to add
to the 900 lawyers it already has worldwide.
The arrivals will join the Los Angeles office, bringing Akin Gump’s tally of lawyers in California to 130. The growth of the firm’s West Coast practice highlights the increasing importance it has placed on boosting both its technology and entertainment practices.
