A few years ago Peter Tucci, the chair of Reed Smith’s international practice group, and Warner Cranston corporate partner David Heard were returning to the airport from a salmon fishing bash in Scotland hosted by a shared client.
Their hire car ran out of petrol in the middle of nowhere. Both men had to catch planes in an hour or two. Things were looking bleak.

But Heard did not panic. He phoned the RAC on his mobile and the pair made it safely to their destination. The incident helped forge a close relationship between the two men which, in turn, helped spark what appears to be the unlikeliest of unions.
