Steve Cirell, head of Eversheds’ public sector group, has undergone some serious surgery – all in the name of charity. Last month, Cirell’s colleagues gave up a weekend to do some painting and gardening for Leeds Cares, a charity for underprivileged children, at Lineham Farm in the city. Cirell’s absence from the team was noted.

The following week, colleagues cornered him in the office and, being a good sport, he agreed to have a David Beckham-style haircut for the charity to make up for the dodge. So far he has raised a follically-challenged £400.
