An internal candidate has been appointed the new Treasury Solicitor, despite a drive to attract City candidates to the top post in the Government Legal Service (GLS).
A press statement issued by Downing Street on Monday (3 July) confirmed that Home Office head of legal, Juliet Wheldon, has been appointed to the most senior government legal position.
