Ashurst Morris Crisp advised CVC Capital Partners and Cinven on their joint purchase of William Hill for £825m. Charlie Geffen led the team. The seller, Nomura, was advised by Freshfields’ Christopher Mort, with Matthew Mott, in-house lawyer at William Hill, advising on its behalf.

Pinsent Curtis advised The Education Partnership on the purchase of Arnold Lodge School in Leamington Spa from the receivers for an undisclosed sum. It is the first school to be acquired by the partnership. Jim Lavery, Emma Sewell and Pippa Kempson advised. The value was not disclosed. Martineau Johnson’s Helen Readett acted for the receivers.
