The lobbying firm working for agrichemical company Bayer did not break the law by compiling information about stakeholders, according to a report by law firm Sidley Austin that was commissioned by Bayer.
Sidley’s report, released by Bayer late last week, addressed claims made by French media organisations that FleishmanHillard, a communications and public relations company, had drawn up lists of stakeholders that contained information that is illegal to compile in France, such as private addresses. The lists were made to do stakeholder mapping for a campaign for the renewal of the reauthorisation of glyphosate, known commercially as Roundup, which is manufactured by Monsanto.
