Last November, Pearson general counsel Bjarne Philip Tellmann, Royal Mail, Informa and TSB were recognised for their efforts at the forefront of the in-house legal community, taking home top prizes at the 2017 British Legal Awards.

Tellmann was named GC of the year for overhauling his company’s legal team and culture while also saving millions of pounds on non-controllable legal spend, seeing off competition from senior in-house lawyers at companies including Aviva and Sky UK.

Royal Mail, Informa and TSB, meanwhile, took the Legal Department of the Year awards in the commerce and industry, TMT and financial services categories respectively.

If you want to be in the running for the 2018 awards, which will take place in London on Thursday 29 November, the deadline for entries is next Friday (7 September) – click here to find out how to enter.
