In Memoriam: Marvin Salenger (1937-2024) One of the World's Truly Great Trial Lawyers The New York legal community mourns the loss of Marvin Salenger, a luminary among trial attorneys whose name became synonymous with excellence and integrity in the courtroom. There will never be another Marvin Salenger. He was not just a remarkable lawyer; he was a force of nature, embodying a rare blend of intelligence, humor, compassion, empathy, and understanding. His magnetic personality drew people to him effortlessly, and his ability to connect on a personal level made each encounter with him memorable. In every interaction, Marvin possessed a charm that made individuals feel valued and heard, as if they were the sole focus of his intention. His genuine interest in people transcended boundaries, earning him a legion of admirers who were captivated by his countless stories and unwavering sincerity. Despite his towering achievements and accolades, Marvin remained remarkably humble and self-effacing, a testament to his grounded nature and genuine humility. His love for the law was matched only by his love for humanity, and his dedication to seeking justice for the underdog extended far beyond the courtroom. In 1985, Marvin Salenger and Bob Sack founded a firm that would soon exemplify excellence in personal injury and medical malpractice law. Starting with just one paralegal, they nurtured their vision and transformed it into one of New York's premier trial firms. For Marvin, the courtroom was not merely a stage; it was his natural habitat, where his talents soared and his passion for advocacy ignited. His presence commanded respect and his courtroom performances were legendary. We remember not only his legal brilliance but also his profound humanity. His legacy will endure as a guiding light for future generations of legal professionals, reminding us all of the power of intellect, integrity, humor, and compassion in the pursuit of justice. Marvin Salenger was, and will always be, irreplaceable a true giant among trial lawyers.
