Following a high-profile court case that drew considerable attention from global law firms, the Hong Kong government has officially changed its immigration policy so that same-sex couples will now be eligible for spousal visas.
Starting Sept. 19, applicants who had entered same-sex civil partnerships, civil unions or marriages outside of Hong Kong are legally eligible to apply for a dependent visa, the government said in a statement.
