Viviette Applewhite, who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for civil rights in Georgia, is the lead plaintiff in a suit against the state of Pennsylvania since its recently enacted voter ID law will keep her from voting in November, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

She is one of 10 voters in the suit, which includes as plaintiffs the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Homeless Advocacy Project.
