The Nutter administration has agreed to the First Judicial District’s request to strip out of the court budget the fees paid to court-appointed private attorneys for indigent defendants, the chair of the FJD’s governing board told The Legal onFriday.
Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge John W. Herron, chair of the FJD’s Administrative Governing Board made up of the president judges and administrative judges of the FJD’s three courts, said the FJD worked it out Wednesday with the Nutter administration so that the fees will no longer be in the court’s budget.
